Small earthquake rattles Vallejo, Suisun City

A small earthquake that rattled parts of Napa County on Monday barely registered as a blip, but it was apparently strong enough to jolt nerves in parts of Vallejo and Suisun City.
The earthquake struck around 10:11 p.m. and was centered in American Canyon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey, which sized the shaker at 2.6-magnitude.
Typically, an earthquake that size is unlikely to be felt by anyone outside the immediate city where it happens. But the relative shallowness of the earthquake — about 6 miles — meant the quake was felt beyond American Canyon, with residents in Vallejo and Suisun City emailing and texting Solano NewsNet with reports of mild shaking at their homes Monday evening.
No damage was reported from the earthquake.
