A small earthquake rattled some Solano County residents awake on Thursday.
The magnitude-4.1 earthquake happened just after 5 a.m., with the epicenter located about eight miles northwest of Pittsburg in the Suisun Bay, according to information published by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
More than 1,000 residents in the North Bay and East Bay regions told the USGS they felt some shaking from the earthquake.
A magnitude-1.9 earthquake followed the main temblor within minutes, the USGS said.
There were no reports of major damage associated with either earthquake.
Earthquakes that impact Solano County are rare, but not unheard of. Last September, a small earthquake jolted Vallejo residents awake, and a few months earlier a similar shaker struck near Benicia.
