A family of six was displaced by an early-morning house fire that drew a significant firefighting presence to Benicia on Friday.
The fire broke out around 7 p.m. at a home along Buena Vista Street, the fire department said in a social media post.
A second alarm was quickly struck, which brought firefighters in from Vallejo, Fairfield and Cordelia, with fire protection coverage in Benicia assisted by the Contra Costa Fire Protection District during the blaze.
The fire department said 22 firefighters and two chief officers were dispatched to the scene during the incident before the blaze was brought under control. One firefighter was treated for a leg injury; there were no injuries to civilians.
Six people were displaced by the fire, officials said. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
