An alleged serial arsonist was arrested by Fairfield police officers this week following the investigation of several dumpster fires in that city.
In a social media post on Friday, police announced the arrest of 25-year-old Donald A. Bowman-Banks of Fairfield.
Investigators say their probe into Bowman-Banks came after fire crews responded to multiple dumpster fires near Gateway Boulevard and Executive Court. Police say surveillance video led investigators to a vehicle connected with Bowman-Banks.
Following his arrest, police say Bowman-Banks confessed to the fires they were investigating along with more than two dozen others over the last year.
Police are asking members of the public who have information about suspicious fires to contact detectives at 707-428-7600.
