The Solano County Sheriff’s Office has closed a stretch of Putah Creek Road in rural Vacaville while deputies search for a man who went missing earlier Sunday morning.
Around midnight, deputies were dispatched to the eastern part of Lake Solano Park near Winters after receiving a report of a pick-up truck that had gone off the road and was submerged in water.
When they arrived, deputies found an 18-year-old Winters man who was clinging to the shoreline. The man, who was not identified, said his friend was still inside the truck.
Deputies located the truck in the water but found no sign of the friend, identified as 18-year-old Eduardo Fierros of Winters.
A preliminary search came up empty. Deputies continued their search at dawn and are using a dive team to search the water for the missing man.
Putah Creek Road is closed between Pleasants Valley Road and Canal Road while the search continues.
