Maybe the bear didn’t wander back home after all.
For the second time in less than a week, residents in Vacaville spotted a young brown bear wandering through their neighborhood.
The latest sighting happened Wednesday around noon when several homeowners witnessed the bear wandering on a residential street near Foothill Drive and Wyhoff Drive.
Video captured on Wednesday and reviewed by Solano NewsNet appeared to show the same bear that was seen lounging in a tree near a middle school two days earlier.
That bear eventually moved to a backyard along the 200 block of North Orchard Drive where he fell asleep for several hours before leaving early Tuesday morning.
Earlier this week, a Vacaville Police Department spokesperson said it was rare, but not unusual, for bears to come into town. The spokesperson said people who encounter a bear should give it space, though if the animal exhibits aggressive behavior, residents should contact police.
