Two residents and their pet dog were displaced on Friday after a two-alarm fire ripped through their home in Vacaville.
The fire was first reported by police officers around 9 a.m. along the 700 block of Camellia Way.
Police on the scene were able to help safely evacuate the residents before firefighters arrived to the scene.
The fire proved difficult to knock down, with fire crews on the scene for at least two hours conducting an interior and exterior search to ensure no one else was inside.
The home was determined to be a total loss, according to a fire official on the scene. No one was injured in the incident, and the American Red Cross was dispatched to provide assistance to the displaced residents.
The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
