After an unusual April warm-up over the weekend, the tone of the weather is changing to one more accustom to the season.
Rain showers are expected to cross through Solano County starting Wednesday evening and linger through Friday morning, according to AccuWeather.
Forecasters with the National Weather Service said portions of the Sacramento Valley could see up to a half-inch of rain with this current storm system. Travelers heading to the Sierra pass could see anywhere from 8 to 14 inches of snow.
Along with the rain, forecasters say gusty wind from 20 to 30 miles per hour is expected between Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon. The wind will help bring the temperature down, with high temperatures ranging from the upper 50s to the low 60s throughout Solano County on Thursday.
The weekend will see warmer weather, with temperatures in the mid- to upper-60s throughout most of Solano County and a steady stream of rain for Saturday. The warmer conditions will offer a chance of spring thunderstorms in southern parts of Solano County, though the likelihood of one occurring is around 15 percent, according to AccuWeather.
A ridge of high pressure moves in on Sunday, which will help dry things out and bring high temperatures back to the mid-70s, the National Weather Service said. The rain is expected to return next week, with showers possible from Monday to Tuesday.
