Pursuit ends with crash, manhunt in Fairfield

What started as an investigation into criminal threats ended with a pursuit, a crash and a brief manhunt in a Fairfield neighborhood on Thursday.
Around 4 p.m., police received a text-to-911 message from a woman who complained that her boyfriend was making criminal threats, according to dispatches.
When officers attempted to contact the victim, the suspect in the incident fled from them in her car, dispatches revealed.
A pursuit took officers through several neighborhoods in Fairfield before the suspect crashed the car near the intersection of Cement Hill Road and Dover Avenue.
The suspect fled from police on foot, jumping over several backyard fences. Police closed the area to traffic and established a perimeter as they tried to find exactly where the suspect went.
Around 5:15 p.m., the suspect was found in a shed at a home along the 600 block of Cement Hill Road. He was taken into custody with the assistance of a police K-9 and suffered a dog bite injury, according to dispatches.
Information about the suspect’s identity was not immediately available.
