Police investigate shooting at Cordelia hotel
Fairfield police are investigating a late morning shooting at a hotel that left one person critically injured.
Officers were dispatched around 10 a.m. to the Motel 6 in Cordelia after the agency received multiple 9-1-1 calls about a shooting there.
When they arrived, police found one person in a third-story room with a single gunshot wound to the leg.
A medical crew from the Fairfield Fire Department was called to the scene while officers applied first aid measures to the victim.
The victim, whose identity was not immediately known, was taken to an area hospital. His condition was listed as stable.
Police say the victim is not cooperating with investigators, but they believe the shooting was not a random act based on what they know. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Fairfield Police Department at 707-428-7600.
