Police in Suisun City have arrested a Fairfield resident in connection with the hit-and-run death of a teenager on Highway 12 earlier this month.
In a statement on Monday, a police spokesperson said Clarence Earl Johnson, 58, was arrested and booked into county jail on charges of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run that resulted in death or injury.
Police said Johnson was arrested “after an extensive investigation” into the death of James Rabara, 15, of Fairfield. Rabara was struck by a vehicle while walking on Highway 12 on May 14.
Shortly after Rabara’s death, police said they had no information on the driver or the vehicle involved in the case, and it was not clear from the police department’s statement as to what led them to arrest Johnson.
