New evacuations ordered for portion of Yolo County after fire jumps Highway 16.

Portions of rural Yolo County near the Cache Creek Casino & Resort are under a mandatory evacuation order tonight after the LNU Lightning Complex wildfire jumped Highway 16 late Wednesday afternoon.
In rural Vacaville and Fairfield, fire crews are still mopping up hotspots and utility workers are restoring power and other services to areas impacted by last Tuesday’s devastating blaze. At a late morning press conference on Wednesday, CAL FIRE officials said they hoped to have the area secure for re-population within the next 72 hours.

CAL FIRE Damage Assessment
Late Wednesday evening, CAL FIRE announced the number of structures destroyed from the LNU Lightning Complex wildfire had crossed the 1,000 mark for the first time since the fire broke out early last week.
The agency also released an interactive damage assessment map that shows the locations of homes and other buildings within the perimeter of the LNU Lightning Complex wildfire. Structures that have been surveyed are identified as either unaffected, damaged or destroyed. (View the map here)
Re-Population Efforts
At a Wednesday morning press briefing, CAL FIRE officials said crews are still working to clear roads and other public areas of damaged trees, downed utility poles and other debris that create unsafe conditions. Those officials said they’re hopeful they can have residents of rural Solano County return home within the next 72 hours. (Watch the press briefing)
Yolo County Evacuations
Public safety officials in Yolo County said late Wednesday afternoon that the LNU Lightning Complex wildfire jumped Highway 16, triggering evacuation orders for Zone 1 and Zone 2 within the county. Those zones includes areas of Rumsey and Cache Creek Regional Park. Officials in Yolo County are urging residents and other interested parties to sign up for evacuation notices and other emergency bulletins via Yolo Alert at www.yolo-alert.org (Click here to read more from CBS13)

The Solano County Sheriff’s Department is requesting members of the community sign up for Alert Solano, a free service that offers real-time public safety alerts, including evacuation notices, severe weather, road closures/openings and other critical information.
