Firefighters with the state’s fire agency and local departments will carry out the rest of a scheduled planned burn in rural Solano County this week.
The planned burn will take place along Highway 128 between Pleasants Valley Road and Canyon Creek Resort in rural Vacaville.
The burns are scheduled to take place during the daylight hours on Thursday and Friday, and smoke along the Solano-Yolo County line may be visible at times while firefighters carry out the exercise.
The planned burn is intended to help reduce the growth of dry grass and other vegetation, which can help lower the chances of wildfires in that area. Fire officials say between 30 and 40 acres of brush are expected to be burned as part of the effort.
