Inspectors with the Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) will use helicopters to analyze gas pipelines in Solano County this weekend.
The inspections will take place in parts of Vallejo, Benicia and Fairfield and will include gas pipelines that run along Interstate 80, Interstate 680 and Interstate 780.
PG&E’s helicopters will take off from Napa County airport, with flights conducted during the daylight hours between Friday, April 29 and Sunday, May 1.
During the flights, local residents may see helicopters fling as low as 300 feet while the inspections are taking place.
The aerial inspections are conducted twice a year, with the second inspection scheduled around October.
Residents can see if their homes are near a major natural gas pipeline by visiting PG&E’s natural gas pipeline webpage.
