One person has died after a shooting at an apartment complex in Fairfield.
The shooting happened around 1:30 p.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex along the 1900 block of Grande Circle.
Police say a 22-year-old male is believed to have contacted a group of individuals, which led to an altercation and then a shooting. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Shortly after the shooting, police were searching the area for two individuals who reportedly fled the scene. About an hour later, police detained two individuals, according to a reporter with KXTV (Channel 10). It was not clear if the two people detained at the scene were connected to the incident.
Police say they’re investigating the incident as possibly gang-related, but officials say it’s still too early to make that connection.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police detectives at 707-428-7600.
