Solano County will remain under a Red Flag Warning until Tuesday evening, after which the region is expected to see a break from the hot, dry weather.
In a forecast bulletin published on Monday, the National Weather Service said breezy, dry and hot conditions generated extreme fire weather that is expected to last until at least 6 p.m. tomorrow.
Until tomorrow evening, forecasters warn that any fires that start could spread quickly in speed and size. The worst weather conditions are expected between late Tuesday morning and early afternoon.
Starting Tuesday evening, the region is expected to get a break from the hot, dry weather. A Delta breeze will kick in on Wednesday, which will help drive cooler temperatures across Solano County through at least the weekend.
Temperatures are expected to peak from the upper 70s to the mid 80s throughout the county, according to forecast models reviewed by Solano NewsNet on Monday. Though wind will increase in speed later in the week, good humidity levels and low temperatures will offset any wildfire weather concerns through at least Sunday evening.
While it’s still difficult to predict, meteorologists say a lingering storm shower is possible this coming weekend, and a rumble of thunder may be heard in the higher elevations.
