One arrested after police pursuit ends with crash in Fairfield

One person was arrested early Thursday morning after a police pursuit ended with a serious crash on Interstate 80 in Fairfield.
The chase started just after 3:30 a.m. when police in Fairfield spotted a vehicle of interest. While attempting to pull over the car, the driver took off, and the California Highway Patrol joined the chase.
The pursuit ended around Manuel Campos Parkway when the driver turned his car around and rammed it into a patrol vehicle. The driver fled the crash, triggering a brief manhunt that lasted about 10 minutes.
The suspect, identified as a resident of Oakland, was ultimately found by Fairfield police and taken into custody.
No officers were injured in the incident. The suspect was taken to an area hospital as a precaution.
