North wind pushing smoke, haze into Solano County

Wind blowing from the north is sending drift smoke and the smell of fire into north Solano County.
Early Tuesday morning, emergency dispatch centers in Vacaville and Fairfield began receiving calls from residents describing an acrid smell of burning vegetation coupled with hazy conditions.
Firefighters checked multiple spots in north Solano County and were unable to locate any active fire burning locally.
Instead, the smoke appeared to be drifting from a large vegetation fire burning in neighboring Yolo County. There, a grass fire near Woodland charred more than 100 acres, according to information posted by the Woodland Fire Department to Facebook.
A wildfire camera atop Peña Adobe and another camera located in Winters both showed drift smoke beginning to appear in Solano County late Monday evening, with haze covering some parts of the region by early Tuesday morning.
The wind could continue to send drift smoke into north Solano County throughout the morning, according to forecasts reviewed by Solano NewsNet.
