New images show vandals damaging Vacaville police, City Hall buildings
The vandals caused around $30,000 in damage to city infrastructure on Sunday.
City officials in Vacaville have released new surveillance photos and video showing vandals in the act during last night’s anti-police protest.
The photos were released along with a plea from members of the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the capture of those responsible for around $30,000 in damage to the Vacaville Police Department’s headquarters and City Hall.
The vandals struck during a weekly anti-police protest organized by the grassroots group “Voices of VV.” Police say the group was around 40 to 50 people strong when a handful of demonstrators decided to go on a campaign of destruction.
Solano NewsNet was the first local news organization to report on the mayhem Sunday evening.
“Our number one priority is the safety of our community,” John Carli, Vacaville’s chief of police, said in a statement. “The individuals who are responsible will be identified, arrested, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Vacaville will continue to respect peaceful protests, but any actions arising from these protests that threaten the community’s safety will not be tolerated.”

Several occuped vehicles were also targeted during the protest, with police reporting at least two cars had their windows smashed as terrified people sat inside.
Anyone with information about the crime spree is asked to contact detectives at the Vacaville Police Department by calling 707-449-5228.
