Hundreds of people are waking up in Rio Vista without electrical service, according to information published by the Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E).
The utility reports electrical service was cut off to more than 2,200 customers Tuesday morning around midnight.
The exact cause of the outage remains unknown, but it was not related to a planned safety power shutoff that was enacted Sunday afternoon for other parts of Solano County. Fire crews were battling a large, two-alarm grass fire in a portion of the city as of Monday at 1 a.m., and the power outage may be related to the fire.
PG&E was not able to provide an estimated time of restoration of electrical service to the affected residents as of early Tuesday morning.
