A traffic stop that turned into a high-speed pursuit through portions of Vacaville on Friday ended with the arrest of a previously-convicted 27-year-old Fairfield man.
Vacaville police attempted to make a traffic stop along North Alamo Drive near Butcher Road around 10:50 a.m. Friday for an unspecified moving violation when Lavonte Shaw allegedly fled from them in his black Infinity sedan, according to a police official.
The pursuit wound through several streets in Vacaville and ended when Shaw ran out of road near a home along Hidden Valley Lane. Shaw fled from police and was found hiding in some bushes a short distance away.
Dispatch traffic revealed Shaw was compliant with officers after they located him. Police took him into custody within a matter of minutes. A gun believed to have been ditched by the suspect was located nearby.
Shaw was booked into Solano County jail on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm and for driving a vehicle that didn’t belong to him.
