Vacaville businesses and community organizations are coming together to provide financial assistance to the family of fallen police officer Matthew Bowen.
Two official fundraisers have been established to collect donations in support of Officer Bowen’s family, including the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC), which has established a $1 million community contribution goal for its fundraising efforts.
Members of the public who want to make a financial donation to Officer Bowen’s family can do so through PORAC by clicking or tapping this link. The fundraiser was established by Erwin Ramirez on behalf of the Vacaville Police Officers Association (POA).
Additionally, the Vacaville Police Foundation has established a fundraiser to collect public donations via PayPal, which accepts most major credit and bank-issued debit cards. To donate to the Vacaville Police Foundation fundraiser, click or tap here.
Members of the public should be weary of individuals or organizations who are collecting funds, especially cash, under the guise of supporting Officer Bowen’s family. The Vacaville POA says it will never make personal phone calls asking for donations, and encourage individuals who want to support Officer Bowen’s family to donate through official channels.
Numerous local businesses are holding fundraisers of their own, with proceeds going to memorial funds for Officer Bowen. Solano NewsNet has verified the legitimacy of the following local business fundraisers:
