Transportation officials will close a portion of Interstate 80 running through Vallejo overnight, according to an announcement made this week.
Starting Thursday evening at 11 p.m., the west-bound lanes of I-80 will be closed between Highway 37 and Interstate 780. The closure allows crews to continue work on overcrossing projects along the freeway.

Motorists will use Highway 37, Highway 29 and the Curtola Parkway as a detour during the closure, the California Highway Patrol said in a social media post.
The lanes are expected to re-open Friday around 4 a.m.
Travelers with questions about the closure are asked to contact CalTrans officials at 1-510-286-5620
