Four people were arrested last week after authorities in three cities busted up an illegal pot growth operation at several homes.
Three homes at the center of the case were located in Fairfield in neighborhoods near the California State Prison. One home was located off Leisure Town Road in Vacaville, while a fourth was discovered in Lathrop, authorities said.
Acting on a tip, Fairfield investigators began probing the illegal pot growth back in February. On more than one occasion, police detectives staked out locations at and around the pot growth, according to tactical dispatches reviewed by Solano NewsNet.
Last week, authorities finally issued a search warrant on all four homes. All of the homes targeted were “heavily fortified with metal bars and doors,” which “created a safety hazard for law enforcement and fire personnel in the event of an emergency [where] access is needed to preserve life and/or property,” authorities said in a release on Thursday.
Four people were arrested in connection with the growth operation, including two individuals from San Francisco and two others from New York state. Their names were not immediately available.
The Fairfield Police Department says anyone who suspects an illegal pot growth in their neighborhood should call local law enforcement. In the case of a suspected illegal pot growth operation in Fairfield, residents are urged to call 707-428-7344.
