Forecasters with the National Weather Service in Sacramento have issued a Red Flag Warning for all of Solano County.
The warning period begins late Sunday evening and goes through Tuesday evening.
Forecasters say a combination of mildly warm weather coupled with low humidity and gusty wind will create high wildfire dangers. Any fires that ignite could spread quickly during the warning period.
“A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly,” a forecaster wrote in a warning bulletin issued on Sunday.
Humidity levels are expected to drop to the low teens during the day and recover during overnight hours. Gusty wind could peak at around 35 miles per hour in parts of the Sacramento Valley, though some local areas could see higher wind speeds at times.
Outdoor burning is discouraged during the warning period.
