The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for much of north Solano County through Monday morning.
The advisory warns motorists and others that a dense layer of fog could create issues for motorists and others, with visibility dropping to one-quarter of a mile or less in places.
Commuters who use Interstate 80, Highway 113 or Interstate 505 in Solano County should be vigilant along with those who travel surface streets in Dixon, Vacaville, Fairfield and rural portions of Solano County around those cities.
“Be alert for sudden changes in visibility,” meteorologist said in a bulletin issued Monday morning. “Allow extra time during the morning commute.”
Meteorologists also said motorists should allow for extra time during their commute and should never user high-beams, or “brights,” in areas of dense fog.
The advisory expires at 10 a.m., though the weather agency may extend it if weather conditions warrant it.
In addition to north Solano County, the advisory covers all of Yolo County, Sacramento County and San Joaquin County.
