The National Weather Service office in Sacramento has issued a Flood Watch covering much of Northern California, including all of Solano County.
The watch period starts Thursday at 1 p.m. and lasts until Sunday at 9 a.m., though the coverage could be extended based on weather conditions.
A winter storm set to cross through Northern California on Thursday could dump between 1 and 3 inches of rain before it dissipates over the weekend, the National Weather Service said.
The rain could lead to rising rivers and creeks and roadway flooding. Evacuation advisories or warnings could be issued for low-lying areas and parts of the region that are prone to intense flooding.
The Solano County Office of Emergency Services said residents should prepare now for the worst of the storm. The Solano County OES suggested residents tie down loose outdoor items, clear storm drains and prepare an emergency kit.
Residents and businesses should use the ZoneHaven website to look up their emergency evacuation zone ahead of the storm, and sign up for emergency messages through Alert Solano.
