A one-alarm fire at a laundromat in Benicia was quickly contained thanks to the fast actions of firefighters in the city.
The fire was reported around 4 p.m. at the business along the 800 block of Southampton Drive.
A responding fire crew called for a one-alarm response, drawing firefighters from throughout the city to the strip mall where the laundromat was located.
A moderate amount of smoke billowed from the business, but the fire was contained just to that location and did not spread to nearby offices or buildings, a fire official said in a social media post.
No one was injured, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
