A fire at a homeless encampment early Monday morning briefly drew a large firefighting presence in Suisun City.
The fire was reported just after midnight along a stretch of Cordelia Road near West Street, according to dispatches.
Eyewitnesses initially reported the fire to be as “big as the nearby trains,” according to an emergency official. Suisun City firefighters and police ordered trains in the area to be stopped as a precaution.
A fire official on the scene said the blaze was about 20 square feet in size. The fire was knocked down around 12:15 a.m.
No structures were threatened, and the cause of the fire was not known as of early Monday morning.
