Two firefighters were injured during a two-alarm structure fire in Vacaville on Friday, according to a fire official.
The fire started around 11:15 a.m. along the 1900 block of Marshall Road.
Responding fire crews found a garage at a house fully engulfed in flames, with embers igniting a fire on the roof of a neighboring home.
One firefighter was taken to the hospital with an unspecified injury, according to Vacaville Fire Department Chief Kris Concepcion. The firefighter’s condition remains unknown, but Concepcion said the injury did not appear to be life-threatening.
A second firefighter sustained a heat-related injury and was evaluated at the scene but not transported to the hospital, Concepcion said.
Several other firefighters were evaluated for possible heat-related illnesses, though none needed medical treatment.
The fire displaced two residents inside the primary home and seven in the neighboring home, fire officials said late Friday evening.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
