The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a Fire Weather Watch for portions of Solano County starting on Monday.
The watch covers areas north of Fairfield to the Yolo-Solano county line, including Vacaville, Dixon and rural portions of Solano County. All of Yolo County and portions of Napa and Sacramento counties are also covered by the watch.
Forecasters say a mixture of wind, low humidity and seasonably warm temperatures will contribute to the rapid start and quick spread of any fires that ignite.
Wind between 10 and 20 miles per hour is predicted in the watch area, with gusty wind at times up to 30 miles per hour. Wind may be stronger along ridges and canyons, forecasters say.
“A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur,” meteorologists said in a bulletin published on Sunday.
Forecasters urge those in the watch area to monitor weather bulletins for the possibility of an upgrade to a Red Flag Warning.
The Fire Weather Watch starts Monday evening and lasts until Wednesday morning.

Over the past two weeks, several grass fires have ignited during similar weather conditions, including a 90-acre fire that broke out along Midway Road and briefly forced the closure of nearby Interstate 80 near Vacaville on Friday.
Another fire briefly triggered the evacuation of around 100 homes along Vine Street near Markham Avenue in Vacaville on Saturday.
