Solano County may experience elevated fire dangers this week due to strong wind and other weather conditions, forecasters said on Monday.
In a bulletin published by the National Weather Service, forecasters said a line of low atmospheric pressure will drive up temperatures and lower humidity levels starting Thursday.
The wind is also expected to increase, with gusts blowing from the north at 30 to 40 miles per hour, forecasters said, warning gusts could be stronger in the western part of the Sacramento Valley, including Solano County.
“These combined will bring elevated fire weather conditions across the Sacramento Valley,” a meteorologist with the National Weather Service said.

As of Monday afternoon, no fire-related weather alert has been issued, though forecasters are known to issue either a Fire Weather Watch within 72 hours of a weather event that brings elevated fire dangers. A Red Flag Warning may also be issued closer to the actual weather event if forecast models call for high wind and low humidity.
Fires that start during similar weather conditions have started quickly and spread rapidly.
