Fire crews working 1-alarm blaze near Winters
Solano firefighters are working a one-alarm grass fire near Winters.
The fire was reported just before 6 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Wolfskill Road and Tubbs Road in unincorporated Solano County.
Solano firefighters reported a half-acre brush fire with a slow rate of speed. Forward progression of the fire was stopped a short time later.
It was not immediately clear if any structures were threatened by the fire. The California Highway Patrol is providing traffic control for south-bound lanes of nearby Interstate 505.
A crew from the Vacaville Fire Department was dispatched to provide mutual assistance.
The fire started during a Red Flag Warning that was issued by the National Weather Service starting Wednesday morning. Forecasters say low humidity coupled with gusty wind was expected to contribute to the rapid spread of wildfires that start during the warning period.
The Red Flag Warning is set to expire on Friday morning.
