The blaze jumped the freeway around 2:30 p.m., according to dispatches.
Fire crews have contained a four-alarm grass fire that jumped a stretch of Interstate 80 on Friday.
Around 2 p.m., Vacaville fire crews were dispatched to a report of a brush fire at a brick yard along Midway Road just west of the east-bound lanes of Interstate 80. As crews were containing the blaze there, a spot fire jumped the freeway, forcing the closure of an on-ramp and nearby roads.
The bulk of the fire that burned was located in a field along Midway Road near Lewis Road, according to aerial images.
The fire burned around 90 acres and was contained just after 3:30 p.m., according to dispatches reviewed by Solano News Update.
One firefighter was transported to a nearby hospital with a shoulder injury.
Traffic remains congested along Interstate 80 and on county roads near the fire.
The Vacaville Fire Department was assisted by numerous other crews from throughout the region, including the Fairfield Fire Department, Vacaville Fire Protection District, Winters Fire Department, Benicia Fire Department, Rio Vista Fire Department, Montezuma Fire Protection District, Dixon Fire Department and the CAL FIRE Solano-Lake-Napa Unit (LNU).
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
