The brother of a Vacaville murder suspect was indicted this week for being a felon in possession of a firearm, the federal Department of Justice announced in a press release on Friday.
Marcus L. Weber, 26, of Sacramento was arrested last month after a police chase and foot bail, according to a news release issued by the U.S. Attorney’s Office and a copy of the grand jury indictment obtained by Solano NewsNet.
Police later discovered a discarded, loaded firearm that they connected to Weber, prosecutors said.
Weber was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a prior felony conviction, the U.S. Attorney’s office said. He was indicted by a grand jury on Thursday on one criminal count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison, though it is possible he could receive less time based on a number of factors that must be considered by a judge.
Weber is presumed innocent unless he is convicted.
Marcus Weber is the brother of Raymond Weber, who was arrested early last year in connection with the alleged murders of two women who were found slain in a Vacaville apartment. The gruesome case made international headlines after Raymond Weber was allegedly seen in a social media video posing next to the bodies of both women, one of whom was underage.
Marcus Weber was in jail at the time of his brother’s arrest. In an interview posted to YouTube after his release, Marcus Weber denounced his brother’s alleged actions.
