All lanes of westbound Interstate 80 have re-opened in the Dixon area after a serious crash closed the freeway this morning.
The crash was reported just before 7 a.m. along the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 near the Pedrick Road off-ramp.
Preliminary information from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) indicated a big rig collided with a work truck and at least one other vehicle.
One person was killed in the crash, according to the CHP. Several others were taken to local hospitals for treatment of various injuries.
The crash triggered the full closure of westbound lanes of the freeway, causing residual delays throughout the morning.
Crews from the California Department of Transportation repaired 50 feet of guardrail and several wooden posts that were damaged in the crash.
