Fire crews in Fairfield helped keep a trash can fire from spreading to a nearby home on Wednesday.
Firefighters were dispatched to a home in the Rolling Hills neighborhood Wednesday afternoon where they discovered a fully-involved trash can adjacent to a garage.
The owner of the home extinguished much of the fire by the time firefighters arrived on the scene, the agency said in a social media post. Firefighters checked the interior of the home to ensure there was no spread and provided smoke-abatement services.
Fire officials did not report the cause of trash can fire. No one was injured in connection with the incident.
