Crews with the Fairfield Fire Department are investigating several small brush fires that started in the city on Tuesday.
Around 6:30 p.m., a fire crew was dispatched to Solano Town Center after eyewitnesses spotted a bush burning near the Macy’s parking lot.
A short time later, crews were dispatched to a nearby fire burning along the Linear Park trail near North Bay hospital. That fire was significantly larger in size, according to dispatches. Crews knocked down the blaze just after 7:30 p.m.
Surveillance cameras in the area captured a person riding a bike near the scene of both blazes, according to dispatches. It was not clear if fire crews were investigating a connection between the person and the blazes, nor was it known if officials deemed either blaze to be suspicious.
No structures were threatened by either fire.
