One person was arrested after a lengthy standoff at a home in Fairfield on Monday.
The standoff began after police were dispatched to a home along the 5300 block of Discovery Way.
The circumstances of what led police to the home were not clear as of Monday evening, but the standoff eventually drew a sizable response from the Fairfield Police Department’s S.W.A.T. team.
Neighbors on the scene told Solano NewsNet they heard several loud bangs like the type let off by a non-lethal stun grenade as police worked to negotiate with the man holed up inside.
At one point during the standoff, the suspect destroyed a police drone, according to a law enforcement official who spoke with Sacramento TV station KXTV (Channel 10).
The standoff came to a peaceful end around 8 p.m. when the individual inside the house was led away from the residence in handcuffs. He was placed into the back of a patrol car and transported from the scene.
The suspect’s identity was not immediately available, and it was not known how he was connected to the home where the standoff took place.
