Two people were arrested at a Vacaville motel on Monday after police recovered a stolen vehicle and a missing handgun.
Around 9 p.m. Monday, an automated license plate reader along E. Monte Vista Avenue detected a sports utility vehicle that had been reported missing from Contra Costa County.
The vehicle, described as a black Jeep Wrangler, was spotted by a patrol officer a few minutes later in the parking lot of the Motel 6 on Orange Drive.
Police pulled the car over and detained 32-year-old Jarvis Handy of Concord and 47-year-old Jennifer De Los Santos of Vacaville after confirming both had warrants out of Solano and Contra Costa counties.
During a search of the vehicle, police located a firearm that was later confirmed to be stolen out of Concord.
Both individuals were arrested after their warrants were confirmed. They are expected to be booked into Solano County Jail later this evening.
