Editor's note on Solano NewsNet and Bridge Media Networks

Solano NewsNet editor Matthew Keys offers the following comment after receiving two media inquiries about the closure of NewsNet:
“Solano NewsNet was established in late 2020 as the region’s only independent, locally owned-and-operated commercial news outlet that offers real-time breaking news over social media and accurate journalism through the web, by e-mail and across other platforms.
Solano NewsNet is co-owned with another publication, TheDesk.net, by Solano Media, LLC, which is licensed to do business in the City of Vacaville and is a registered commercial operation with the California Secretary of State.
Solano Media and Solano NewsNet are not affiliated with Bridge Media Networks, a Michigan-based company that owns a similarly-branded television news operation called NEWSNet, and we have no information about why the channel stopped broadcasting over the weekend, beyond what has been reported in the industry trade publications.
Solano NewsNet continues to operate as normal. We’re proud to call Solano County our home, and we look forward to introducing the community to our new website within the next few months.”
