Editor's note for two stories published on January 25, 2021
Solano NewsNet strives for accuracy, objectivity and completeness in all published stories. From time to time, stories are updated with notes, clarifications and corrections based on newly-available information or to fix an unintentional mistake.
In two stories (“Protesters arrested during Vacaville traffic stop rally identified,” “Protesters arrested during traffic stop in Vacaville expected to be released”) published on January 25, 2021, Solano NewsNet erroneously reported that the Solano County District Attorney’s Office had declined to prosecute several protesters who were arrested during an anti-police rally in Vacaville last September.
While conducting research for an unrelated story, a review of court records by Solano NewsNet revealed prosecutors ultimately filed charges in early December against two of the protesters who were arrested in September. Both stories have since been updated to reflect this information.
Additionally, a third story published in September (“Charges dropped against organizer of Vacaville protest”) — which was correct at the time, based on available information — has been updated to reflect the county prosecutor’s decision to bring criminal charges in December.
