Dixon police ask for information after fatal hit-and-run
The crash injured a 71-year-old man and killed a 70-year-old woman on Sunday.
The Dixon Police Department is asking for the public’s help with information about a crash that left one person dead and another injured in the city’s downtown corridor this past weekend.
On Sunday, officers were dispatched to a report of a person laying in the middle of the roadway along North First Street near East B Street, according to a department press release.
When officers arrived, they found citizens performing CPR on a 70-year-old woman who later died from her injuries. The woman was identified by the coroner’s office as Adelina Rendon, 70, the owner of a Mexican food restaurant in Dixon called Taqueria Adelina.
A 71-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. His identity was not released by the police department.
Dixon police said they were looking for the owner of a white-colored 2010 Nissan Murano with a Virginia license plate. Late Monday afternoon, officers said the vehicle had been located and impounded, but the owner of the vehicle has still not been found.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Dixon Police Department at 707-678-7080.
Rendon’s family has established a GoFundMe page with a request for financial assistance to cover the cost of her funeral.
