A pair of Solano County residents were arrested by the Dixon Police Department this week on various fraud charges, including crimes connected to the theft of unemployment benefits, the agency announced in a press release.
On Wednesday, patrol officers spotted a vehicle parked in front of a local hotel that was connected to a Vacaville woman with two outstanding bench warrants.
With the help of hotel staff, police were able to find a room booked to the woman, identified as 30-year-old Teri Hunter of Vacaville, where they also found 40-year-old probationer Joseph Muzio of Fairfield.
After arresting Hunter, police conducted a search of her hotel room where they located “numerous ID cards, several debit cards and other identifying information of dozens of [other] people,” a police spokesperson said.
Hunter was booked into Solano County Jail on charges related to unemployment fraud, forgery, access card theft and her two outstanding bench warrants. Muzio was also arrested after police linked him to the presence of illegal drugs in the hotel room, they said.
