Deputies with the Solano County Sheriff’s Department arrested a 32-year-old Antioch man following a shooting and a car chase over the weekend.
Police say Thomas Ruscigno, 32, allegedly shot at another man during an argument in Rio Vista early Saturday morning. Ruscigno allegedly tried to flee the city but was spotted by sheriff’s deputies who were responding to the incident.
When deputies tried to conduct a traffic stop, Ruscigno tried to get away, police say. A high-speed pursuit wound through Solano, Sacramento and Contra Costa counties, with speeds hitting over 100 miles per hour, according to sheriff’s officials.
Ruscigno was captured in Antioch after a short foot bail. Jail records reviewed by Solano News Update revealed he was detained on felony charges of murder and evading a police officer. His bail has been set at $25,000.
