Crash into power pole leaves 2,500 without electricity in Vacaville

A car crash on the freeway in Vacaville resulted in a blackout that left more than 2,500 customers without electricity in that city.
The crash happened around 7:15 p.m. along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 near Orange Drive and the Interstate 505 interchange.
According to information from the California Highway Patrol, the crash caused live electrical lines used by the Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) to come down across the road.
Electrical service was off to more than 2,500 customers in Vacaville. Power was restored about an hour later.
