An early-morning crash involving three big rigs is causing serious traffic delays through Vacaville this morning.
The crash was reported around 3:30 a.m. along west-bound Interstate 80 near the Cherry Glen Road off-ramp.
Eyewitnesses told the California Highway Patrol that a sedan was weaving in an out of lanes in the area. A short time later, a crash involving a sedan and three big rigs was reported.
Emergency crews had all lanes of west-bound Interstate 80 blocked while they rescued people who were trapped in one of the involved vehicles.
As of 5 a.m., all lanes of west-bound Interstate 80 are blocked, except for the number one, or “fast,” lane of the freeway.
Traffic is backed up to the East Monte Vista off-ramp in Vacaville and is expected to remain affected until tow truck drivers can remove the big rigs that were involved in the incident.
