Cool weather this week, return to triple-digits by weekend

This week has been relatively enjoyable compared to last week, when a heat wave scorched Solano County with triple-digit temperatures.
Enjoy the cooldown while you can, because those hot temperatures are coming back very soon.
In a forecast bulletin published on Tuesday, meteorologists with the National Weather Service said a ridge of high pressure will drive temperatures up across Solano County and much of interior Northern California by the weekend.
There is a chance that another Excessive Heat Watch could be issued from Saturday until Tuesday, when temperatures are expected to climb anywhere from the upper 90s to the low 100s.
“Over the next few days, will have to keep a very close eye on how guidance depicts the evolution of this building ridge as there is — once again — the very real chance for excessive heat for portions of the area,” Scott Rowe, the lead meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Sacramento, wrote in the bulletin.
According to AccuWeather, North Solano is expected to see the worst of the hot weather, with temperatures creeping well above 100 degrees in Vacaville, Fairfield and Dixon on Sunday. A slight cooldown will bring temperatures to around the upper 90s on Monday, with some areas seeing a return to triple-digits on Tuesday.
Things will be slightly cooler along Solano County’s water communities: Vallejo and Benicia are expected to see high temperatures in the mid-80s to low-90s this weekend. Suisun City will also see cooler weather, with highs forecasted to be in the mid-90s.
One exception is Rio Vista, where the water won’t bring much in the way of relief: AccuWeather says weekend temperatures are expected to touch the 100-degree mark, with Tuesday being the hottest day in that city.
A break from the heat is expected from next Tuesday onward.
