Comcast is recovering from a system outage that left customers in parts of Fairfield and Rio Vista unable to make phone calls and use other Comcast services.
Around 1 p.m., the Solano County Office of Emergency Service issued a bulletin warning of a Comcast service outage affecting more than 1,000 customers in Fairfield and Rio Vista.
Customers with Comcast’s Xfinity-branded phone service, which uses the Internet to make and receive phone calls, were unable to call 9-1-1 during the outage period, a county official said.
Comcast began restoring service to affected customers a short time later.
Comcast offers Xfinity-branded cable television, Internet, phone and home security services to every incorporated city in Solano County except Dixon. The company also offers Verizon Wireless phone service under the “Xfinity Mobile” brand.
