The California Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances behind a rollover crash that happened in north Vacaville early Sunday morning.
Just before 1 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Interstate 505 at Allendale Road after the CHP received a report of a Jeep that had rolled into a ditch on the on-ramp leading to the south-bound lanes of the freeway.
Crews from the Vacaville Fire Department and Dixon Fire Department were also sent to the scene, but when they arrived, they couldn’t locate anyone involved in the crash. A CHP helicopter flew over the scene and confirmed it did not appear anyone was ejected from the vehicle.
Officers on the scene noticed “empty containers” and some blood inside the vehicle, which indicated the driver was likely injured as a result of the crash.
The CHP eventually tracked down the driver, who was transported to the Kaiser Permanente hospital in Vacaville by a parent. Solano NewsNet is not identifying the driver because it remains unclear if he will be charged in connection with the crash.
No other information was available as of early Sunday morning.
